UNIVERSAL ABSORBENT PADS or absorbent mats as they are sometimes called, are used on roadways, walkways and in other areas for chemical and oil spills and leaks when pillows interfere with operations, traffic or safety. Our standard stock absorbent pads consist of two types of polypropylene material. Our needle punched absorbent pads are very strong and can't be easily torn. The needled absorbent mats should be used when when strength and durability are concerns. Although not as strong as the needle punched pads, our melt blown absorbent pads are much more absorbent. When durability is not an issue, or when absorbency takes priority to durability, the melt blown absorbent mats should be used. Other uses for absorbent pads include leaks under machinery, under vehicles, and on lab bench tops for general cleanup. Most spill kits include absorbent pads. They are very light and easy to dispense.
Our newest product is a gelling pad that absorbs 37 gallons of water based liquids (over 50% more than our MB universal pad) or 23 gallons of hydrocarbon based liquids. Two abrasive-resistant outer layers allow fluids to pass through to the absorbent center layer that is a combination of super absorbent gelling polymers and universal meltblown polypropylene. |
